About Us

Welcome to Blumin Opals. We are Mike and Jessica Healy. While exploring our new city of Savannah we were blown away by its beautiful architecture and unique trees. We stumbled upon a yard, Re-purpose Savannah, that preserves building materials from old buildings and trees that have reached the end of their life-cycle. Our family has been in the opal business for over 40 years. We came up with the idea of making jewelry with historical wood and setting our opals into our pieces. The colors of the opals and beauty of the wood make stunning works of art. 

All of our jewelry is hand-crafted from veneering and bending our wood to cutting and polishing our stones. Using reclaimed wood from Re-Purpose Savannah and ethically sourced Ethiopian and Boulder Opals. Our Boulder Opals are from the small Outback town of Quilpie in Queensland. Wood sourced out of buildings built in the 1800’s and trees that have reached the end of their life-cycle. Our love of history and the beauty of opals help us create jewelry that will add to the story of your life.
